To date, Brain in Hand has been recommended through DSA to help more than 1,000 students with a diagnosis of autism, attending more than 160 universities. We are delighted to say that Student Finance England has now approved Brain in Hand Assistive Technology for meeting the needs of any student who has an impairment to executive functioning, memory deficit or difficulty with anxiety, regardless of their diagnosis.

Research shows that students who receive support through DSA achieve continuation rates in-line with their peers without a disability, but without the help provided by DSA a greater number of disabled students drop out of university. This will needlessly happen to approximately 2,500 students this year.

Our research shows that Brain in Hand is providing a measurable difference in keeping student’s studies on track, with 88% coping better with problems and feeling more confident. We look forward to now being able to help students with a wider range of conditions and difficulties to better manage their studies.
