About the Research
Too many neurodivergent people face barriers at work. This study will help show what really makes a difference – and build the case for better support across the UK.
By taking part, you’re not just helping yourself – you’re helping change the system.
This study is part of an SBRI-funded national research project exploring how Brain in Hand supports neurodivergent employees (autistic or ADHD) in the workplace. It’s run in collaboration with the Behavioural Insights Team and supported by NHS organisations.
The goal is to understand whether digital, personalised support can help people feel more confident, organised and in control at work – and whether it could be offered more widely in the future.
If you’re autistic or have ADHD (diagnosed, on a waiting list for diagnosis or self-identify), employed in the UK, and finding work challenging or overwhelming, Brain in Hand could help you feel more confident and in control.
We especially encourage you to join if:
- You’ve requested, or think you would benefit from, formal support with the challenges you experience at work
- You’ve passed your probation period
- You feel like you might be autistic or have ADHD, even if not formally diagnosed
- You work at least 25 hours a week in a normal work week
You’ll be asked to:
- Complete three surveys (around 40–45 minutes each) over six months
- Optional: Take part in a weekly diary study or a one-time interview
- Use Brain in Hand as much or as little as you like over 12 months
There’s no catch – but we do ask that you fill out the surveys at all 3 timepoints so the research team can understand what works and what doesn’t.
You’ll get free access to our personalised support system, help manage work challenges more effectively, and contribute to groundbreaking research that aims to improve workplace support for autistic and ADHD adults across the UK.
